The better the photo, the more lifelike your portrait. Here's how to choose the perfect one.
Photo tips
Great portraits start with good light
We can work with almost any photo, but these tips help us capture every detail.
Great photos
- Natural daylight, no harsh flash
- Take it at your pet's eye level
- Both eyes and markings clearly visible
- Ears and whole head inside the frame
Try to avoid
- Filters or beauty effects
- Photos taken from far away
- Deep shadows over the face
- Head or ears cropped off
Great photos
- Faces well lit and in focus
- Eyes open, natural expression
- Original file rather than a screenshot
- Separate photos are fine — we'll combine them
Try to avoid
- Sunglasses or hats hiding the face
- Very small faces in a group shot
- Heavy editing or filters
- Strong backlight from a window
Great photos
- Straight-on angle on a bright day
- The whole building or car in frame
- Extra close-ups of doors or details help
- Tell us which season or scenery you'd like
Try to avoid
- Parked cars or bins blocking the view
- Extreme wide-angle distortion
- Night photos
- Only part of the house visible
Several photos? Upload up to 3 on the product page and tell us in the notes how to combine them. For the background, you can also send a separate scenery photo.
